20+ years behind the music. Every set built with purpose. Lamar "Marcotiks" Parker brings the ear of a producer, the instincts of a musician, and decades of experience behind the decks to every room he plays.
About
More Than a DJ.
A Musician Behind the Music.
For more than 20 years, Lamar "Marcotiks" Parker has been steadily building a life around music—as a DJ, producer, musician, and student of the craft.
His approach to DJing is deeply informed by his years behind the boards as a music producer and his background as a drummer, keyboardist, and bassist. He doesn't just hear songs—he hears arrangement, rhythm, phrasing, dynamics, and the moments within a record that make people move.
That musical foundation shapes every set.
Rather than simply moving from song to song, Marcotiks focuses on creating flow—reading the room, building energy, finding unexpected musical connections, and knowing when to let a record breathe. The result is an open-format DJ experience that feels intentional without ever feeling forced.
Whether it's a wedding, private celebration, corporate event, or nightlife setting, the goal remains the same: serve the people in the room through music and create moments they'll remember long after the last song plays.

Mr. Lamar was a pleasure to work with. I had a great experience! He was punctual, super friendly, and had such a cool, welcoming vibe from beginning to end. His energy was amazing, and he was very easy to work with. What I loved most was his patience. This was my first event and I was a bit overwhelmed, but he reassured me and really took the time to listen to what I wanted. He made sure everything flowed just right. If you're looking for a DJ who will deliver great vibes and handle your event with professionalism, don't think twice… book him. Highly recommend!

September 2023 · Client Event
Don't hesitate, just book him!!! I hired him to DJ a client event I threw for our beloved past clients and he was fantastic! The theme was a Hawaiian Luau Tailgate party. Lamar executed in every way! Great vibes for a very mixed crowd of people from all different backgrounds and ethnicities. He was very punctual and came early, completely prepared with all of his own equipment. He was great at reading the crowd and blended the music to a T! Everyone is still talking about how great the music and DJ was!
